Carlton & United Breweries has announced that from November Mercury Hard Cider will be available on tap.

The cider had previously only been available in cans. The on-premise program will be rolled out to 115 venues nationally. Available in 49.5L kegs, Mercury will be providing venues with launch support, including POS suites and staff incentives.

“Publicans will now have a new and exciting cider offering to drive penetration in a growing and margin accretive cider category, while recruiting new drinkers to the category with a clearly differentiated draught product,” said Brian Phan, CUB’s head of cider.

Promoted as a ‘masculine’ cider offering, Mercury Hard Cider has an ABV of 6.9%, has a light golden colour and is full flavoured with a smooth finish. According to Aztec scan data, it is also one of the top 10 fastest growing cider brands in Australia, making it an attractive on-tap option for publicans wanting to diversify their cider offerings.
