Modena 88, a Sydney bar and restaurant designed by a former House of Chanel stylist, has launched a new cocktail list targeted at after-work drinkers.
The list contained 30 cocktails created by Modena mixologist Aaron Podrill and will be sold at half price from Tuesday through to Saturday between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
“Aaron’s philosophy behind making cocktails is based on simplicity,” said Modena proprietor Nick Kalis. “He honed his cocktail making skills while working on the opening of Sydney’s Zeta Bar, at the Water Bar and on the opening of the Hilton in Fiji. The cocktail list changes seasonally so that he is able to utilise the freshest and best produce available in Sydney.
“The most popular cocktail on the list is the mandarin and chilli daiquiri, even though Aaron himself prefers the luscious kaffir and lime negroni. His recommendations include the blackberry sake flip and the organic elderflower champagne cocktail,” Kalis said.
Modena 88 is part of the Modena Group, named after the Italian city and province that is the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari and Luciano Pavarotti. The Modena portfolio includes the Modena Pizza Bar and Modena Café, both located in the heritage listed Queen Victoria Building; and Modena Prestige Cars, a motor vehicle dealership located next door to Modena 88 in Crown Street, Woolloomooloo.
