Mount Gay has added a new rum to its Australian portfolio, introducing Mount Gay Eclipse Silver earlier this month (December).
Distributed by Suntory Australia, Mount Gay is one of the oldest rum brands in the world, having been established in Barbados in 1703.
The new white rum is distilled from both column and copper pot stills, and then filtered three times.
Its appearance is colourless, with an aroma of cane syrup and banana, while its palate has hints of peppermint.
Mount Gay Eclipse Silver has recently won a Gold Medal at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition, as well as a Gold Medal (Best in category) at the International Cane and Spirits Festival in 2008.
The Mount Gay rum range includes Mount Gay Extra Old and Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask Selection.
