The Nag's Head Hotel, an old English-style pub in the inner city suburb of Glebe, will open its doors to the public this Friday following a substantial refurbishment.

The Nag’s Head has been owned and operated by the O’Hara Group for over a decade and prides itself on its engagement with the local community.

On Friday night these valued local guests will join the O’Haras, representatives from the AHA and hotel industry celebrities in celebrating the pub's facelift, with a nod to the old-school stying and memorabilia now integrated with some modern eccentricity.

The unveiling party will also provide a vehicle for the launch of Pinchgut Brewing’s very special Monty’s Noble Ale (logo above left), produced in tribute to HeartKids and children born with heart defects.

Glebe’s award-winning pub will be the first to tap the ale, inspired by owners Jason and Catriona Smith’s son Monty, who was born with a heart condition.

Pinchgut Brewing will donate money from the sale of each keg of Monty’s Noble Ale to HeartKids – a charity providing support, awareness, advocacy and research into congenital heart disease in children.

Owner, Dan O’Hara, is excited by the positive feedback already received from patrons about the changes.

“We understand the local patrons wanted something new and we have presented them with a positive change whilst staying true to the original charm that the hotel offers.”

The pub’s revamp included refurbishment of the main bar and lounge, converting Stables Bistro into a stables/farm house setting, as well as construction of the loft lounge and the private dining Heritage Room.

Some of the new elements include eye-catching striped wall paper, chesterfield leather lounges, old wine barrel coffee tables and quirky lamps, which are intended to put a modern edge on the pub’s age-old character.
