La de Da bar and restaurant, a collaboration between a group of Sydney creatives, opened its doors in Sydney’s Mona Vale this month.

The Pittwater Rd venue has been established by Rick Vaughan (tattoo artist and interior designer), Aya Larkin (previously co-owner/operator of the Canteen Bar & Diner in Bondi and musician), Paul Brabenec (artist and graphic designer) and Marcus King (art director/DJ).

Housed in a historic building with a striking façade bookended by two bay windows, La de Da features a plethora of artworks, collectables and decorations, with soundtrack provided by a jukebox of handpicked songs.

A stage doubles as mezzanine dining and a performance space for weekly live band shows, and there is also a generous courtyard.

La de Da’s food includes seasonal tapas plates, wood fired pizzas in the traditional Napoli style, a formidable burger and fresh, inspiring mains. Drinks include cocktail jugs and frozen slushies, a ‘garden martini’ consisting of gin, house made lavender syrup and yellow chartreuse, along with craft beers from Little Creatures and White Rabbit.
