William Grant & Sons is considering building a distillery in Ireland for Tullamore Dew as it takes over the brand's distribution in Australia.

Suntory Australia officially handed local distribution over to William Grant & Sons Australia earlier this month (February).

Tullamore Dew had been distributed within Australia by Suntory Australia for the past ten years.

Last year William Grant & Sons announced the global purchase of Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey from C&C International.

While the drinks company is still examining the logistics of how the whiskey brand will fit into its global portfolio, it is believed that a Tullamore Dew distillery will be built in Ireland in due course.

The whiskey is currently produced under contract by Pernod Ricard’s Irish Distillers and bottling is managed by William Grant & Sons in Ireland.
