Popular Tasmanian distillery, Hellyers Road, has appointed experienced industry figure, Andy Bower as its new General Manager.

Bower brings a wealth of knowledge to Hellyers Road having held a range of senior Executive positions including Sales Director at Brown-Forman, Global Sales Manager at Casella Wines, General Manager NSW at CCA and Executive General Manager at Metcash.

Bower’s appointment comes at a time of growth for the whisky producer and he will guide the business through a number of growth opportunities in local, national and global markets.

“The Hellyers Road story is one of foresight, determination and dedication, inspired by Henry Hellyer, and is the iconic Tasmanian Whisky with a great story to tell,” Bower said.

“The superb quality of the whiskies speak for themselves, and I am very impressed with the Hellyers Road team and in awe of what they have achieved. The distillery and visitor centre are first class and I am very excited to join Hellyers Road as it continues its journey.”

Chair of the Board Lesley French added: “Hellyers Road is very pleased to welcome Andy into the Company. His considerable know-how and familiarity with the industry is vital for Hellyers Road as it expands.

“Andy is joining Hellyer Road at a time when we are growing our production of single malt through an increase in brewing and distilling. We are also undertaking a number of projects to expand our storage capacity and improve distillery facilities.”
