Coles has announced another major appointment within its Liquor Group with Cathi Scarce confirmed as the new general manager of operations, taking over from Thinus Keeve.
Scarce has worked for Coles for more than 20 years, after starting in a store role; she worked as the state general manager for WA supermarkets for the last two years.
Coles Liquor director Greg Davis said he was delighted Scarce was joining the liquor team after a successful time in her role running the supermarkets business in Western Australia.
"Cathi has always been a champion for our stores, and her enthusiasm for sales and people will add to the strength of the Liquor leadership team," Davis said.
"We're very excited to have her on board as we work to deliver even better value and a fantastic shopping experience for our customers.
"Cathi is also dedicated to developing and mentoring women in leadership positions, and as a result of this we've appointed her as Chair of our Women in Leadership Steering Committee."
Scarce takes over from Thinus Keeve, who will re-join supermarkets in the role of state general manager, NSW.
"Over the last three years Thinus has done an outstanding job leading Operations within the Liquor team and has delivered significant improvements in store standards and operational efficiencies," Davis added.
"Thinus has been passionate about developing our team and has been instrumental in introducing our Retail Leaders team development program to Liquor, implementing and maintaining a strong safety culture and championing the Coles Indigenous program."
Following his work on the Indigenous program Keeve has also been appointed as the new Chair of Coles' Indigenous Steering Committee, leading the work this team is doing in creating employment opportunities and raising cultural awareness.
Both Scarce and Keeve will transition into their new roles after Easter.
