Pub group Solotel has purchased the Kings Cross Hotel for an undisclosed amount.

Contacted by TheShout, a spokesperson for the company confirmed the acquisition but could not reveal any further details dues to a confidentiality agreement signed with the previous owner.

The landmark hotel completed six years of refurbishment and redevelopment in July last year and was, for the first time in 96 years, allowed to legally operate all five floors simultaneously.

The revamped hotel includes the Copperlilly Nightclub where the original 1913 lift car has been transformed into a private booth and a rooftop cocktail bar with views across the Sydney CBD.

Solotel will commence running the Kings Cross Hotel in January.

The group currently operates 18 businesses in Sydney including the Golden Sheaf Hotel, Opera Bar and Quay Bar.
