Beam Inc this week announced that Nicholas Fink (pictured), the company's chief strategy officer, will succeed Phil Baldock as president of its Asia Pacific/South America unit (APSA).

Baldock plans to retire from Beam at the end of 2013 after 14 years with the company.

"Over the past 14 years, Phil's drive, vision and dedication has seen Beam succeed in a number of markets, not least in Australia where our hero product – Jim Beam White is the most popular spirit brand in the country," said Beam Global managing director Oceania, Steve Inch.

Fink, 38, is a seven-year veteran of Beam who served in key management, commercial, marketing and legal roles before becoming the chief strategy officer in 2012.

"While sad to see Phil leave, we're delighted to welcome Nicholas Fink into the Beam Oceania family, his global experience and expertise speak for themselves and will certainly help us maintain the growth we're seeing across the region," said Inch.

"It's a real coup to have someone with his talents continuing to drive the company forward."
