Polish vodka brand Zubrowka is set to move its Australian distribution to Suntory Australia from February 1.

Produced at a state-of-the-art distillery in Bialystok, Poland, Zubrowka is a rye-based vodka that goes through multiple distillations before the addition of pure bison grass essence to create a truly distinctive vodka with underlying herbaceous and vanillin tones.

Zubrowka’s partnership with Suntory creates new synergies for the brand and its parent company Russian Standard in Australia, where Suntory already distributes the company’s flagship brand Russian Standard Vodka.

Russian Standard area director for Australia and New Zealand, Trent Russell said: “We’re excited by the transition to Suntory, with whom we already have a successful relationship with the distribution of Russian Standard Vodka.”

“The move not only allows us to consolidate our brands through the one route to market vehicle, but more importantly it allows Zubrowka to benefit from Suntory’s on-premise capabilities and build upon the foundation that has already been established in the market,” said Russell.

Ian Atherton, managing director of Suntory (Aust) Pty Ltd., added: “Suntory Australia is excited to welcome Zubrowka to our premium spirits portfolio. Zubrowka is a unique and original brand that already has a strong following with both the trade and consumer. The brand complements our on-premise focus, and we look forward to bringing the Zubrowka brand to life.”
