The national organisation, which represents cider and perry producers, has launched a new website designed to better serve the industry and consumers.

According to Cider Australia, the updated site will promote events, share information and make it easier for visitors to uncover details about its members.

A main feature of the website is an “interactive cider map”, showcasing Australia’s major cider producing regions, as well as information about producers. The site also features a events calendar listing cider-related festivals, conferences, competitions and educational opportunities from around the country.

According to the president of Cider Australia, Sam Reid, the new website will play a vital role in achieving Cider Australia’s goal of a sustainable cider category in Australia.

“Cider Australia was established to undertake activities that improve the quality of ciders produced and marketed in this country, and our website is designed to provide easy access to information about these activities and cider generally,” he said. “We are a voluntary, non‐profit, member-based organisation and bring together people with an interest in cider to exchange knowledge on trends, production techniques and innovations.”

He went on to add that the website was inclusive, featuring resources for the industry, policy makers, and cider consumers alike. The website also features an archive of results from the annual Australian Cider Awards – now in its sixth year – as well as news from the industry body and any policy submissions it makes.

“Cider makers and enthusiasts from Australia and overseas can also use the site to learn more about Australian cider styles, our local producers and the products they make,” Reid added.

The new website can be viewed at www.cideraustralia.org.au.
