The manager of a Sydney nightclub was wounded and two rugby league stars were shot at but escaped injury as a result of two separate shootings in Sydney’s Kings Cross entertainment district last night.

Sapphire Suite manager, Charlie Saleh, was shot at three times outside his Kellett Street club at approximately 8:30pm. Saleh was wounded in the thigh and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The gunman is believed to have been traveling in a silver Mitsubishi ‘Evo’ Lancer with rear spoiler and black mag wheels. The vehicle was last seen travelling west toward the city.

In a separate incident, rugby league players Jarryd Hayne and Mark Gasnier were targeted by a gunman while exiting the Las Vegas Hotel, AAP reported. It is believed the shooter was involved in a brawl inside the hotel earlier in the evening.

Police believe the shootings were not connected but are appealing to the public for more information.
