The NLG Hotel Group has hailed its Mt Annan Hotel as the country’s luckiest pub after a local won a $1.9 million Keno Jackpot there last Friday (July 15).
The introduction of Keno into NSW hotels less than two years ago has been an opportunity that NLG has quickly seized.
The pub group won the 2010 AHA Awards for Excellence for the Best Keno Venue, both regionally at the Moonee Beach Tavern, Coffs Harbour, and city at the Lalor Park Hotel.
NLG has grown its Keno portfolio to include 28 of their NSW venues
According to a spokesperson for the pub, a local to the Mt Annan Hotel ended his working week in regular fashion by visiting his local to check his Keno ticket from the day before.
When his ten winning numbers came up, the Mt Annan man ‘broke down and cried’.
The man, who was not named, visits the hotel several times a week to enjoy a game of Keno.
“Our relatively infant relationship with Keno has seen some great success stories in such a short period of time” said NLG Hotel Group marketing & commercial manager, Alistair Flower.
“The $1.9M win at the Mt Annan Hotel is a testament to the success of Keno throughout our NSW Venues, but it is also a great news story for the Mt Annan community.”
Flower added that the addition of Keno to NSW Hotel’s in 2009 has proven to be a great addition to the growing diversity of NSW pub offerings.
“We have enjoyed a short but prosperous relationship with Keno throughout our NSW pubs and the recent jackpot at the Mt Annan Hotel has certainly touched the wider NLG community,” he said.
The win has also spread positive affirmations for the Mt Annan Hotel, now revered as one of the ‘Luckiest Pubs in NSW’ by many in the Mt Annan community.”
