National Leisure and Gaming (NLG) venue the El Cortez Hotel in Canley Heights has taken out first place on the list of the top 200 gaming venues in NSW for the December quarter.
The venue has now held the top spot on the list, compiled by the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR), for six consecutive months after also securing the number one position for the September quarter.
Another NLG venue, the Eastwood Hotel, came in at number two on the list.
NLG managing director, Andrew Jolliffe, said the group were thrilled to take out the top two positions.
"These results indicate six consecutive months in the number one position in the state with the El Cortez Hotel, a wholly satisfying result. However, to also take out the number two ranking with the Eastwood Hotel is indicative of the successful prosecution of our broader gaming strategy. That said, the inherent potential still untapped within our portfolio of hotels remains latent, and the possibilities are directly linked to a better funded vehicle," he said.
"As a management group we aren’t yet satisfied that we have met all our gaming objectives, and as such look forward to mining the potential still housed in a range of our assets. We’re not done yet."
