The Australian Liquor Stores Association has opened nominations for the 2015 Young Liquor Retailer of the Year Award.
The Award program is designed to encourage up and coming young applicants and is aimed at staff members aged up to 25 years old and with at 18 months experience in the sector.
ALSA president Giuseppe Minissale said: "ALSA is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the new ALSA Young Liquor Retailer of the Year Award for 2015.
"This is a fabulous new national opportunity for young liquor retailers from around Australia to enter into a merit based awards program and the winner will participate in the ALSA International Retail Study Tour to Japan in February 2016."
The program is designed to stimulate bright young retail liquor staff to further their career opportunities in the retail liquor sector and it complements the professional development initiatives of ALSA’s on-line training programs available under ALSA-TRAIN and the retail liquor knowledgebase ALSA Retail Insights.
ALSA CEO Terry Mott added: "ALSA is committed to encouraging and supporting professional and responsible development of our future retailers and this is a massive opportunity for a young liquor retailer to experience an international retailing environment and learn along with a group of senior professional industry executives."
Nominations for the Award are now open and will close on October 30, with the finalists announced on November 16 and the winner will be named on December 16. More details on the nominations and Award are available on the ALSA website.
