Sydney’s Northern Beaches, once the backwater of the Sydney bar scene, is quickly becoming the city’s newest hot-spot with the opening of a branch of a popular Eastern Suburbs bar.

Located in Manly, Manly Wine by Gazebo, is the third Gazebo-branded venue for owners Paul Schulte, John Duncan and Fraser Short, who also own Gazebo Wine Garden in Elizabeth Bay and the four month-old The Winery by Gazebo in Surry Hills.

The bar joins a growing number of new venues that have opened in the area over the last 18 months, including Hugos Manly, Charlie Bar and Park St Social Club.

“We saw a hole in the market over on the Northern Beaches,” said Schulte. “A lot of our customers at Gazebo Wine Garden and The Winery are from that side [of the bridge] and so it made sense to open up a third Gazebo over that way.”

In keeping with the Gazebo design-theme, Schulte promises that Manly Wine by Gazebo will have a lot of the quirks of the other two venues, but with a beach-theme.

“A bit more raw, but it’s still very fun,” he said. “It’s a very casual space, very relaxed. It’s the type of place you can come in after a surf in your boardies to grab a drink.

Manly Wine by Gazebo will open to the public on Tuesday February 9 for breakfast and dinner seven days and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
