The man credited with rebuilding Northern Suburbs Rugby Club (Norths) and the award-winning Cabana Bar and Lounge is leaving after five years at the helm.

CEO John Tully has resided over both the rugby and hospitality sides of Norths Rugby, transforming the Club into a financially profitable and viable business.

Cabana Bar and Lounge took out the best registered club in Australia for the fourth year in a row at the recent Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA).

One of the few registered clubs to make more profit from food and beverage than gaming, Norths has significantly increased its Club membership under Tully’s tenure.

“When I started this role the board and I said it would be a three-year proposition, and it kept on extending! When I leave Norths in February 2009, I will leave a vastly different and improved business compared to when I arrived,” Tully said.
