Craft beer retailer, Beer Cartel, has welcomed the extended trial of online age verification, saying the trial it was part of earlier this year was a success, according to Beer & Brewer.

This week, ConnectID, eftpos’ digital identity solution, announced plans to expand the trial of its digital age verification process for online alcohol sales.

The expanded trial was announced at Wednesday’s Liquor Retail Summit and comes ahead of new legislation in New South Wales, that will require consumers to verify their age before they’re able to purchase alcohol online, from July next year.
