Having “broken the internet” last week the latest whisky release from the Overeem distillery has now sold out in record time.

The distillery tried to sell its latest Port Matured whisky last week, but the huge demand caused the company’s website to crash and therefore delayed the launch until Monday; this time the sale went off successfully.

Jane Overeem told TheShout: “It all went really well. The Port Matured Single Malt 34 per cent and Cask Strength 60 per cent was all sold out within 12 minutes. That’s record-breaking this time.”

She added: “There is still some Sherry Cask Strength available and there will be more Overeem Port Cask Matured Whisky being released in mid-May.”

Last week Overeem told TheShout that the distillery has enjoyed more international interest as the word about Tasmanian whisky spreads and that the previous release of the Port Matured sold out in 19 minutes.
