Patrón partner Sergio 'Checo' Perez, driver for the Red Bull Formula 1 team

Patrón Tequila has announced a new partnership with this year’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, to be held next week in Melbourne.

This is the first time that Patrón will extend its global affiliation with Formula 1 to Australia. The new partnership will see the iconic tequila brand activate the Formula 1 Paddock Club Premium Suite across the four day event, as well as officially launch the Grand Prix in style by presenting the 2023 Glamour on the Grid on the eve of the event.

Patrón’s passion, heritage and tradition will be showcased at the Paddock Club suite, in a beautifully designed green and white sanctuary of luxury. With one of the best views of the Albert Park Grand Prix circuit, guests will enjoy Mexican inspired cuisine and entertainment while sipping a range of classic Patrón cocktails.

Donna Mulholland, Marketing Director for Bacardi-Martini Australia, said: “Just as Patrón is masterfully crafted to deliver perfection in every drop of our 100 per cent naturally perfect tequila, the same tireless dedication can be seen at the F1 from the many hands who bring it to life on and off the track.

“We are thrilled to be an official part of this year’s Australian Grand Prix event. We can’t wait to make guests race weekend experience and Glamour on the Grid event simply perfect with a Patrón tequila cocktail in hand.”

Checo’s Mango Margarita

In addition to the range of classic cocktails on offer, guests to the suite will also have a chance to taste the specialty Mango Margarita cocktail designed by Mexican Formula 1 driver for the Red Bull team, Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez. The cocktail celebrates the global partnership of Patrón and Checo, and is a unique collaboration between two Mexican icons with an Australian twist.

This is just one thing that the Australian Grand Prix Corporation is looking forward to with this new partnership, according to General Manager of Sales and Commercial, Darian Misko.

“We are excited to welcome Patrón to the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix for the first time in 2023 and we can’t wait to try the Checo Pérez Mango Margarita with our guests in the Formula 1 Paddock Club Premium Suite,” Misko said.

“We are also delighted to have Patrón onboard to launch our event and know that in true Patrón style, they’ll bring the glamour to Glamour on the Grid.”
