This year Top 10 Australian Patrón Perfectionists have been revealed, and they will now take part in the national final scheduled to take place on 27 September.

For the first time, this year’s competition was opened to the public to vote for their favourite cocktail from 30 different creations. The top three bartenders with the highest public vote made the Top 10, with the remaining seven being chosen by Patrón.

This year’s Top 10, their cocktail and venue are:

NEW SOUTH WALES

  • Harrison Kenney ‘Teal’ Cantina Ok!
  • Sion Roberts ‘Unity’ Dead Ringer
  • Pauric Kennedy ‘The Journey’ Barangaroo House

VICTORIA

  • Aiden Rodriquez ‘Casa Del Jimador’ Eau de Vie
  • Corina Retter ‘Silver Daisy’ Capitano

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

  • Grace Rawlins Memphis Slims House of Blues

NORTHERN TERRITORY

  • Pravin Phuyal ‘Inspiración 1492’ Hot Tamale
  • Niccolo’ Maffezzoni ‘La Capitana’ The Trader Bar

QUEENSLAND

  • Rebecca Bayley ‘Homespun’ Cielo Rooftop
  • Daniella Darakis ‘A Sunny Afternoon’ The Gresham

Bacardi-Martini Australia Brand Ambassador and 2017 Patrón Perfectionist finalist, Joseph Chisholm said: “Creativity was at an all time high this year, the flavour of the cocktail and the story behind were big score factors. The 2021 Top 10 entries really highlight the calibre of bartending talent here in.”

The national final will take place in-line with relevant health advice on 27 September and will be broadcast globally through the Patrón Perfectionist Facebook page. The Top 10 will be judged by a panel including the Owner of Coretto, Kurtis Bosley, Former General Manager of MomoFuku Seiōbo, Kylie Javier Ashton, and Founder of Boothby Drinks, Sam Bygrave.

“It’s been a tough year for the hospitality industry and this has been a great way for us to support and pioneer bartenders from across the globe. We’re incredibly excited to see how the finals unfolds and I’m sure it will be a tough competition.”

The winner of each national final will be invited to fly to Mexico in January 2022 for a chance to meet their fellow Perfectionists and compete in the global final at Hacienda Patrón.
