Penfolds is set release its highly-anticipated 2011 Luxury and Icon wines, including the 2006 Penfolds Grange, tomorrow (April 5).

Speaking exclusively to TheShout, Penfolds chief winemaker, Peter Gago, said this year’s release spans four vintages, but believes the strongest wines come from the 2008 vintage.

“Conditions leading into the 2008 vintage provided the perfect environment to craft classic and long-lived Penfolds wines,” said Gago.

The 2011 Penfolds Luxury and Icon release includes:

  • 2006 Penfolds Grange RRP from $599
  • 2008 Penfolds Yattarna Chardonnay RRP $129.99 – cellar door only
  • 2008 Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon RRP $189.99
  • 2008 Penfolds RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz RRP $174.99
  • 2008 Penfolds Magill Estate Shiraz RRP $114.99 – cellar door only
  • 2007 Penfolds St Henri Shiraz RRP $89.99
