Punters can expect a different level of quality and sophistication from a new nightclub that has launched in Perth's Northbridge clubbing district, its owners say.

Owned and operated by the same people behind Mint Nightclub, and located in the same building, Air Nightclub opened its doors just before Christmas last year.

The club has an aviation theme to it, with three bars located across two floors catering for up to 450 people.

Bar manager Ben Tua said Air aims to offer a much friendlier and classier clubbing option for patrons, along with a great selection of quality drinks.

"Whatever type of customer comes in, we should be able to serve them anything from vodka and soda to Treacles," he said.

"Northbridge gets a bad reputation, deservedly at times, that its venues are crappy, with no pride in their work and rude door staff. Our whole plan is to deliver friendly service with no attitude and no crappy drinks."

The main dance floor is located downstairs, featuring a $200,000 DJ booth complete with the latest in lighting, smoke machine and LED display technology, and framed by two large replica airplane turbines.

The second floor is home to a cocktail lounge decked out with designer seating and leathered walls, nicknamed "first-class" by the bar team. It features an extensive selection of premium spirits, including Calle 23 tequila as the house pour and close to 30 single malt whiskies.

"We stick to cocktails that the public knows but make them the best they've ever had, things like Mojitos, Piña Coladas and Long Island Ice Teas," Tua said.

"And we do a twist on the Fruit Tingle, which is very big in Perth, based on the Charlie Chaplin cocktail."
