Award winning accounting and business advisory firm PKF, has once again signed on as the official auditor of the Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA).

The voting for ALIA is a two-stage process, with the first stage seeing voting available via the ALIA website, from 1 July 2018, through to Friday, 17 August 2018. Here anyone involved in Australia’s liquor industry is encouraged to vote for their favourite brands, people, venues and retailers.

Once all these votes are counted and collated, the finalists in all categories are determined by the highest number of votes. These finalists are then judged by an off-premise selection panel and on-premise selection panel made up of senior industry representatives which is printed in each year’s event program. Each member of the panel votes in a 3-2-1 process for their top three selections in every category.

It is these panel votes that the PKF team will then audit to confirm the winners in each category and to ensure fair voting for the awards.

Representatives from the auditors will be in the audience on the night of ALIA to witness the correct winners are awarded and to address any voting queries, and PKF Partner Mitchell Stone, told TheShout that the firm was very happy to be on-board as the ALIA auditor once again.

“As a company that is heavily involved with Australia’s liquor and hospitality industry, PKF is delighted to once again be involved in the Australian Liquor Industry Awards as the official auditor for 2018,” Stone said.

“Our advisory team has a vast knowledge and expertise in the hospitality, entertainment and leisure industry which we have used to help grow many Australian businesses. We’re looking forward to auditing the ALIA results again and we’re excited to be a part of this important night on the Australian liquor industry calendar.”

The first voting stage of ALIA is still open, with just one week remaining to ensure that your favourite brands, people, venues and retailers are finalists, make sure you head to the ALIA website now and cast your vote.
