Famous musician Sting and his wife Trudie Styler brought some celebrity bling to ProWein 2017 showing off the wines from their Tuscan estate Il Palagio at a media event to launch their tasting tour throughout Europe.
In addition to performances throughout Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, England and France over the next month, tastings of the Il Palagio Italian wines will be conducted from a purposely designed campervan.
There are four red wines in the Il Palagio range – Message in a Bottle, Sister Moon, When We Dance and Casino Della Vie as well as a white version of the Message In a Bottle and a Rose.
After flying in from New York to the media event at ProWein, Sting played signature songs including Message in a Bottle and Every Breath You Take as well as a tribute to the death of Chuck Berry with a version of Johnny B. Goode, before taking journalists to the exhibition stand within the exhibition where his wines were on display.
“A good wine tells a story and hopefully it will tell the story of Trudie and I’s adventure in wine culture – it’s a complex story, a sexy story and an interesting story, and I think our personality is in the wine,” Sting said at the launch.
