Returning to Brisbane this weekend is the year's largest event for the hospitality and foodservice industries, Fine Food Queensland.

Running March 11-13 the event will showcase best practice across the industry in a series of seminars featuring guest speakers from leading corporations and suppliers.

One such seminar is ‘Smart Pub Food’, presented by Mark Bell of the Airlie Beach Hotel.

Speaking to TheShout, Bell says that without giving too much away, he’ll be discussing the trend towards sustainability and using local produce.

“Visitors to the seminar will learn how hotels such as the Airlie Beach are gaining a competitive advantage through creative and economical measures to cut costs, grow their markets and reduce their impact on the environment.”

Tickets are on a first-come first-served basis and free as part of the overall Fine Food Queensland event.
