Opening in mid-November, The Hornsby Inn’s 19th Hole will be Sydney’s first indoor golf experience within a licensed hotel.
Complete with two OptiGolf simulators within a golf-themed space, The 19th Hole will challenge notions of what traditional pubs offer patrons.
Licensee Michael Bradshaw said the golf simulators will become a major point of difference for the venue, allowing it to reach out to new customers.
"Seeing really is believing and I’d encourage people to come down and try it for themselves," he said.
Hornsby Inn manager Michael Smith (pictured), who proposed the concept earlier in the year, said: "Bringing an indoor golf experience into a pub is something unheard of, but the state of the industry requires hotels to be constantly seeking and providing experiences that go above and beyond what pubs traditionally offer."
"The 19th Hole complements the pub’s traditional offer and allows guests to enjoy a round of golf on the world’s best courses such as Augusta and St Andrews, all while enjoying a drink and a meal."
OptiGolf's Aku Wekara said: "OptiGolf's unique provision of cutting-edge golf simulation in an entertaining and player-friendly format is perfect for pubs who want to stay ahead of the competition and really give something back to their patrons. This new trend in indoor golf entertainment is growing rapidly around Australia with the Hornsby Inn and OptiGolf leading the modern pub revolution, building on the success of entertainment venues such as Slice Virtual Golf in Newcastle."
