Broadband provider Unwired is to offer hundreds of uConnect wireless internet hotspots in pubs across Sydney and Melbourne pubs, providing free internet for patrons.

The high-speed WiFi technology costs $49.95 per month for venue owners with no contracts or cost for the unit.

Unwired CEO, David Spence, said the company installs and supports the unit for free and offers a modern necessity for customers.

“uConnect is taking off in both Sydney and Melbourne. It is a hassle-free and cost-effective way for owners to gain a competitive edge,” Spence said.

The uConnect program is already installed at Sydney venues the AB Hotel and Kelly’s on King, and Melbourne’s The London Tavern.

A wholly owned subsidiary of the Seven Network, Unwired aims to be the largest wireless broadband provider in Australia.
