Coonawarra winery, Redman Wines, has announced that from August eastern seaboard distribution for the company’s portfolio of wines will be moving to Melbourne based operation The Wine Company.

Porter & Co will look after South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Distribution of Redman wines is currently handled through Constellation Wines Australia (CWA) / Accolade Wines, and Redman Wines’ winemaker, Bruce Redman, has nothing but praise for their past work on the Redman portfolio.

“For almost thirty years, Constellation Wines and The Hardy Wine Company before them have distributed our wines," he said.

"With Constellation’s change of ownership and new direction, we have mutually agreed that the time has come to call it a day.

"All of our dealings have remained absolutely amicable and we thank Constellation for helping us to build the profile and reputation of the Redman brand."

Located in South Australia’s iconic Coonawarra region, the Redman family has been growing and making wine for more than 100 years, launching their brand in 1966.

“We are delighted to be joining The Wine Company’s impressive portfolio and they will be looking after us in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne," said Redman.

"Porter and Co, a great local outfit, will be selling Redman in South Australia and the Northern Territory. We’re excited to be working with these two family owned businesses and a new crew, with fresh, innovative ideas to take our brand into its next phase.”

The current vintage Redman releases include:

  • 2008 Redman Shiraz RRP $23
  • 2009 Redman Cabernet Sauvignon RRP $33
  • 2006 Redman Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot RRP $36
  • 2003 ‘The Redman’ RRP $70
