Sydney nightclub Ruby Rabbit has undergone a dramatic facelift that will see its entire ground floor turned into a virtual cosmos.

Every part of the room, including the walls, ceilings and bar top have been covered in stars, moons and planets constructed from thousands of A3 sized-paper tiles.

“The first installation is a lunar theme, very space-like and even the floor and ceiling will be involved,” said co-owner Paul Schell, who along with partner Phil Cawood opened Ruby Rabbit and its exclusive top-floor bar, De Nom, in 2006.

The revamp will be accompanied by a collaboration with music promoters Future Entertainment, which will host parties every Friday and Saturday night from tonight (April 3).

“Collaborating with the Ruby Rabbit gives us the opportunity to focus on the intimate experience and to deliver a weekly home for our culture,” said Future Entertainment representative Brett Robinson.

“The club’s location, the exclusivity and reputation makes it the perfect collaborator for us. Now we can provide something to Sydney that’s been missed for a long [time].”
