Accounting and advisory firm Bentleys has joined forces with the South Australian Wine Industry Association to call upon SA wine operators to complete the SA Wine Industry Survey.
Now in its sixth year, the SA Wine Industry Survey is ‘an important barometer for the industry’ which will provide insights used to guide lobbying efforts, and programs and initiatives for the wine sector.
In a press statement, Bentleys SA recognised that the South Australian wine industry is facing challenging times, with export challenges, a large 2021 vintage and uncertain trading conditions as inflation rises and the impact of COVID continues to be felt.
As such, the firm has identified its key areas of investigation for this survey: oversupply, ESG, inflation, environmental impacts, labour challenges and innovation.
‘The 2022 survey will help business and policymakers understand industry sentiment, provide insights and key findings from across South Australia plus identify areas of opportunity and assistance,’ Bentleys’ statement read.
Bentleys also believes that the survey will provide a ‘clear snapshot of the status of the industry’ while identifying new trends and gathering business insight to ‘help inform development’.
Last year’s report found that SA wine businesses had diversified operating practices in response the increased Chinese import tariffs.
Bentleys’ partners in this endeavour, the South Australian Wine Industry Association, is a voluntary trade body made up of wine producers and grape growers in the region.
The 2022 South Australian Wine Industry Snapshot report will be published in October, 2022. Complete the survey here, or see more information here.
