Padthaway Estate vineyards in South Australia is up for sale, with expectations that the property will fetch more than $10 million, according to realtors.

The 178-hectare estate includes established vineyards, award-winning brands, stone cottages, shearer quarters, a wine museum, cellar door and a Victorian stone mansion built in 1882.

Marketing the property with Elders Real Estate, is Colliers International rural and agribusiness senior executive, Tim Altschwager, who said the current climate is causing more properties to come onto the market.

“There’s an increase in vineyards up for sale due to the lack of water supply, too much production of grapes and the current financial turmoil,” he said.

Despite these challenges for the wine industry, Altschwager said there had already been quite a bit of interest in the property.

“It is a unique offering with the bed and breakfast, vineyards and undeveloped land included in the sale.”

Expressions of interest close Thursday November 20 at 2:00pm.
