Sydney’s Sackville Hotel is holding its bi-annual Wine Drive, bringing the essence of the Hunter Valley to the city, on Saturday (Jun 21).

The Sackville Wine Drive will run from midday in the inner-city suburb of Balmain, with hundreds of wines to sample and a collection of craft beers on offer.

Now in its seventh year, the event sees the pub close its bottle shop driveway to make room for food and wine stalls and Reggae band, The Incredibles.

Several winemakers will be on-hand, along with plenty of food, including fine cheeses supplied by Paesanella and a barbecue manned by Eumandi Smoke House, showcasing their organic sausages and cured meats.

The Sackville Hotel’s bottle shop manager, James Edwards, said the event draws a crowd every year and is a drawcard for the area.

“The wine drive is a fantastic opportunity to sample some of Australia’s finest wines and has become an anticipated event for Balmain locals,” he said.
