Sandalford Wines has inked a deal to acquire the neighbouring Killerby Vineyards in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Western Australia’s Margaret River.

The Killerby property is on the western boundary of Sandalford’s existing 1000-acre vineyard, with Evans & Tate’s Redbrook property to the north and Pierro’s vineyard to the south.

Wilyabrup is widely considered the ‘dress circle’ region in the Margaret River appellation that is also home to Howard Park, Cullen, Moss Wood, and Vasse Felix, among other prominent labels.

Sandalford’s original vineyard was established in 1970 and the company has some of the oldest vines in Margaret River.

The acquisition coincides with Sandalford’s plans to commence a large-scale events program later this year, which will also mark the winery’s 40th anniversary of winemaking in the region.
