The identity of the second man who lost his life last week in an explosion that rocked the main plant of Drayton’s Family Wines in the Hunter Valley was today revealed as local welder and boilermaker Eddie Orgo, according to the ABC.

Earlier reports that Orgo was a relative of the Drayton family proved to be incorrect. While still awaiting formal identification, the first fatality is believed to be President of the Hunter Valley Vineyard Association and winemaking icon, Trevor Drayton.

Police investigating the accident said they have identified the vat containing the ethanol gas that caused the explosion.

“We’ve done a number of tests on that and we’re hoping that we’re going to take that away this week sometime for further examination,” chief inspector Steve Moate told the national broadcaster. “We’re trying to do everything we possible can to make sure we gather all evidence and make the correct decisions on how it happened and what did happen to prevent this sort of thing occurring again.”
