SouthTrade International (STI) will take over sales and distribution of the Australian-owned Sesión Tequila.
Sesión Premium Tequila is set to be a valuable asset to STI, especially since tequila is the fastest growing sector in the Australian spirit market.

Sesión will play an important role in our exceptional Agave portfolio,” said Ray Noble, STI’s Managing Director, “We see the Sesión brand as a great complement to our existing Agave brands – Monte Alban and Corazon. Adding Sesión Premium Tequila to the range allows us to service all segments of the on and off-premise liquor markets.”
Sesión means “celebrate together” in Spanish, and is “a perfect cultural fit for the Southtrade family,” according to Noble.
Sesión Premium Tequila was founded by Australian entrepreneurs Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall, alongside their long-term friend Tim Freeburn. Sesión is produced from 100 per cent blue agave. The agave is grown and distilled by the Partida family, a multigenerational tequila producing family, on their agave estate in Jalisco, Mexico.
“We got into this because we saw an opportunity to shift perceptions about tequila in Australia, but also because we love the drink – it is an extension to our lifestyle,” said Hawkins.
This move represents an opportunity to get Sesión into more glasses across the country.
