American brewing pioneer Sierra Nevada has officially launched its range of highly regarded craft beers into the Australian market with its flagship Pale Ale set to lead the charge.

The brewer hopes to use the momentum gained from its three medals and nomination for the Best New Exhibitor trophy at the recent Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) in Melbourne to its advantage.

Sierra Nevada will partner with Australian importer Phoenix Beers to access the local market.

Brewery ambassador Steve Grossman, who was in Melbourne for the inaugural Good Beer Week celebrations, said that he was very impressed and excited by the flourishing craft beer market that has developed in Australia over the past decade describing it as being ‘very passionate’.

According to its website, Sierra Nevada Brewing was founded in 1980 when head brewer and founder Ken Grossman brewed the first batch Sierra Nevada Pale Ale – a beer style that has been emulated globally since.

The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and four other beers will begin rolling onto shelves at selected liquor outlets nationwide from June.

The Sierra Nevada Range with ABVs and RRPs is:

  • Pale Ale 5.6%- $22.99 – $24.99
  • Kellerweis 4.8% – $22.99 – $24.99
  • Porter 5.6% – $23.99 – $ 25.99
  • Stout 5.8% – $23.99 – $ 25.99
  • Torpedo 7.1%- $27.99 – $29.99
