Twenty-four bartenders were given a unique experience when Smirnoff took them Porsche Racing on the Gold Coast recently.

As part of a Smirnoff incentive program, venues across the country were given the chance to win a trip for two to participate in the Porsche Racing Day.

Driving around in speeds of up to 200kph, the bartenders battled it in 12 Porsches valued at $400,000 a piece.

Although the final was decided by a mere 0.5 seconds, Ben Luzza from Madame Brussels in Melbourne was crowned ‘Time Trial Champion’.

“It was one of the most amazing things I have ever done,” Luzza said. “I couldn’t believe that they let us test out 500 horsepower Porsches without being told to slow down.”

Luzza earned a place in the final through serving jugs of Smirnoff Moscow Mules.

“It’s the best incentive I’ve heard of in Australia. It’s great that companies are encouraging bartenders with these programs,” he said. “It’s also really good to get away with other people in the hospitality industry.”
