Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards recognised Melbourne’s Taxi Dining Room with four awards on Monday night, including Wine List of the Year, Victorian Wine List of the Year, Best Restaurant List and the inaugural Judy Hirst Award for Sommelier of the Year for Lincoln Riley.

“Considering the level of competition, it was a complete honour to win the Sommelier of the Year and have Taxi Dining Room achieve the Wine List of the Year,” Riley said. “We are continually striving to seek out the exceptional and are dedicated to enhancing the list to complete a sophisticated dining experience.”

At Federation Square, Taxi Dining Room has previously collected a number of awards, including The Age Good Food Guide’s Restaurant of the Year in 2006 and two Chef’s Hats in 2007.

The Wine List of the Year Awards were reinstated by Fine Wine Partners in conjunction with Gourmet Traveller WINE after several years hiatus. The panel of judges took into account the content, balance, pricing, suitability and presentation of the wine lists from more than 300 entries from around the country.

The winners in all categories of The Wine List of the Year Awards are featured in the current edition of Gourmet Traveller WINE.
