Fresh on the back of Spain’s World Cup victory courtesy of a late Andres Iniesta strike comes the Australian launch of a brand new Spanish beer made specifically to match with food.

Brewed by Spanish beer giant Estrella Damm, the new beer is called Inedit, and is designed to offer an alternative to wine.

Presenting a similar food-friendly character to wine, the beer is said to be slightly cloudy in appearance, and has a creamy and fresh texture, as well as delicate, sophisticated bubbles.

Available in a 750mL bottle, it is recommended to be served like a white wine, kept in a wine cooler and poured into white wine glasses.

The idea behind the beer’s development comes from the growing trend of beer and food matching.

Estrella Damm Inedit also won a range of gold medals at the World Beer Championships 2009, as well as the European Beer Star 2009.

It has an RRP of $12.
