Red Island has introduced to the Australian market Scarlett's Spritzers, a natural fruit flavoured sparkling drink created by New Zealand winery Invivo.
Red Island's Patrick Ale said the company felt there was a need for a refreshing, natural fruit-flavoured alcoholic drink, "that would appeal to those consumers looking for a premium option, away from the often too sweet ciders and RTDs".
Current flavours exclusive to the Australian market are Wild Strawberry, Passionfruit and Orange & Mango.
"We felt these flavours resonate with Australian consumers who will also enjoy the additional benefits of it being gluten free and eight per cent ABV," said Ale.
Red Island says the spritzer or wine cooler, an 80s favourite, is having a resurgence with increasing popularity in the UK, European and US markets, with Australia following suit.
Scarlett's Spritzers are available in 500ml single bottles with an RRP of $6.99 or three bottles for $18.
