In an effort to create a more contemporary look for the brand Stolichnaya Vodka has redesigned its packaging for the first time ever.

The new design was on unveiled at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes this week and it will be available in the UK later this year, before hitting our shores in early 2016.

Displaying an embossed logo on its neck, a feature to help give bartenders more control, the new bottle is also taller and the packaging has been described as an "evolution" of the existing design.

Lars Vestbirk, marketing director for Stolichnaya, told The Drinks Business: "Stoli has a long and proud history of vodka distilling. It has always been about the liquid: maintaining the original bold character and perfecting the unsurpassed Alpha quality.

"Our vision with the new Stoli packaging is to reflect what’s inside the bottle and the brand’s substance and heritage. We deliberately seek to contrast today’s superficial vodka category."

Stolichnaya is distributed by island2island in Australia and the new bottle packaging is expected to be available here in early 2016.
