Suntory Australia has announced today (April 1) it has taken over the distribution of the Remy-Cointreau portfolio from Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA), effective immediately.

CCA said the development will not impact on its liquor distribution business as it had replaced the Remy-Cointreau portfolio with other premium brands, including Courvoiser Cognac and Laphroaig Islay.

“We’re very happy with the new arrangements because operationally it’s a more streamlined structure,” The Australian Financial Review reported the company saying.

The Remy-Cointreau portfolio includes Cointreau and Passoa liqueurs, Remy Martin and Louis XIII Cognacs, Piper Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck Champagnes, Mount Gay Rum, Metaxa and St Remy brandies.

Suntory Australia also distributes Midori, Jagermeister, Jose Cuervo, Frangelico, Glenfiddich and Grant’s.
