Suntory Australia has responded to the strong demand for Japanese whisky by launching its Kakubin Whisky expression onto the Australian market.

Kakubin, which literally means “square bottle” in Japanese, was launched in 1937 and is the expression that supposedly inspired the recent highball craze in Japan which, according to Suntory, cultivated a new generation of whisky drinkers.

“Japanese whisky has taken Australia by storm and the response to our portfolio of luxury whiskies – Yamazaki, Hibiki and Hakushu – has been incredibly positive,” said Yosuke Minato, GM of trade marketing and corporate planning for Suntory Australia.

Suntory Whisky Kakubin is available now at bars and liquor stores throughout Australia for RRP$48.
