Fox Sports and Carlton Draught are teaming up to kick off the highly anticipated Super Rugby season, in support of driving patronage to licensed venues.

Veteran Fox Sports commentator Greg Clark will host an all-star industry event for publicans on Tuesday February 18 at Redcape’s newly re-launched Minsky’s Hotel, including a Q&A with the NSW Waratahs.

Minskys Hotel publican Anthony Brady told TheShout the initiative is ideal for venues like his.

“The Super Rugby season is always a big draw card, and now with the addition of Fox Sport HD we are equipped to deliver an enhanced experience for the keen sports enthusiast.

“Our partnership with Fox Sports and CUB really assists us in driving patronage throughout the Super Rugby season.”

Fox Sports Venues’ head of commercial Ben Campbell said the upcoming opening weekend was perfect for building the excitement around the coming season.

“With plenty of surprises during the first two matches of the 2014 competition over the weekend, Super Rugby is back with a vengeance this year!

“The Aussie teams begin their quest for southern supremacy this weekend, with every match of the Super Rugby season live and exclusive on Fox Sports.

Campbell said games will be shown at optimal times for licensed venues, suggesting it as “a huge opportunity to increase foot traffic”.

This weekend, Fox Sports will be showing Crusaders v Chiefs (Friday 5.35pm), Brumbies v Reds (Saturday 7.40pm) and Waratahs v Force (Sunday 4.05pm).
