SurfAir at Marcoola on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has won the opportunity to send one of its bar managers or bar staff on a trip to Mexico courtesy of Jose Cuervo.

The on- and off-premise competition challenged venues to activate a Jose Cuervo inspired tequila concept somewhere within their establishment.

It was run jointly by bars&clubs, Australian Hotelier and National Liquor News magazines, along with TheShout and Jose Cuervo.

Diageo Australia brand manager for Jose Cuervo Josh Wheeler said the SurfAir team headed by Thor Vallmuur were the clear winners.

“They implemented and executed a great Cuervo inspired Mexican theme in their bar, making the most of the space they had and really creating some amazing theatre in venue,” he said.

“One lucky member of their team will be heading off to Mexico with Cuervo from May 12-17 for a great tequila adventure, Cuervo style!”

The trip includes three days at the Mexican beach resort of Puerto Vallarta, followed by two days being immersed in all things tequila, in the town of Tequila and at the Cuervo distillery, La Rojena.
