As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to unfold in NSW, and other states, the Wine Communicators of Australia has made the decision to postpone the 2021 WCA Sydney Royal Wine Show Trophy Winners Lunch.

The lunch had been scheduled to go ahead on Friday, 6 August, but the WCA’s Executive Officer, Andrew Stark said that because it was not possible to guarantee the safety of guests the WCA and RASNSW decided to look for an alternative date.

Stark said: “While the WCA and RASNSW are excited about having the judging and the lunch go ahead again in person, we are also first and foremost committed to ensuring the health and safety of all involved.

“Given the unfolding Covid situation in Sydney, it is clear that the original date of 6th August will not allow us to guarantee that safety. As such, WCA and RASNSW are working closely on identifying an alternative date later this year that will allow us to celebrate excellence in winemaking in a safe and convivial environment.

“As soon as we have more details, we will get these to you. For existing ticket holders, your bookings will transfer across to the new date without you having to rebook. If you have purchased a ticket but cannot attend the new date, we will provide you with a full refund.

“We apologise for the uncertainty at this stage, but I’m sure you can appreciate that health and wellbeing have to come first.

“We look forward to celebrating with you all soon. In the meantime, please stay safe.”
