A new Tabasco-flavoured tequila has been released in the US by Heaven Hill Distilleries.
Known as Tabasco Spicy Tequila, it is made from premium tequila flavoured with Tabasco brand pepper sauce.
“We are tremendously excited about the prospects of Tabasco brand Spicy Tequila and this licensing agreement with McIlhenny Company (owner of Tabasco),” said Heaven Hill Distilleries president, Max Shapira.
“Like our company, McIlhenny is family-owned and independent, so this is a partnership built on commonalities and mutual benefits.”
The tequila will feature the iconic Tabasco ‘Diamond’ logotype graphic on the face label, with red and gold foil flames rising behind to the edges of the rectangular border.
It will initially be available in four US states, with the company looking to expand further over the coming months.
Stuart Alexander, the distributor of Tabasco brand sauces in Australia and New Zealand, said there were no plans of launching Tabasco Spicy Tequila in Australia at this time.
