Talisker has launched another no-age statement whisky, with the release of its new expression called Talisker Skye.

Described as more introductory whisky, Skye "accentuates the softer notes of Talisker, whilst retaining the distillery’s unmistakable character".

Stuart Harrington, Talisker's distillery manager, said: "We're very proud to welcome Talisker Skye to our family of distinctive whiskies. We're extremely passionate about both our whiskies and home, the Isle of Skye, and see this whisky as the perfect way of celebrating this.

"Our master blenders worked tirelessly to create an expression that embodies Skye's wild beauty – and we're delighted with the end product; it's Skye in a bottle."

Talisker already has the no-age Storm expression available and the Dark Storm is a travel retail version. Speaking to TheShout during the launch a spokesperson for the brand confirmed that there is no intention of using either Skye or Storm to replace the popular 10-year-old expression. Recently we reported that Glenlivet confirmed its new Founder's Reserve will be replacing the Glenlivet 12-year-old in Australia.

Talisker Skye is now available nationwide with an RRP $85.99 but is currently available on promotion for $65.
